too much box space?

Is such a thing possible? I have a 10" Hollywood DVC and want to raise my rear seat 2", and scrap the middle brace (use the box to support the seat). Would this be too much space for a single 10". I plan on replaceing that sub with two RF 10's, which is why I want to make a bigger box than necessary. Any insight would be appreciated.

Depends. How much cu. ft. would that box be, and what is reccomended for your sub.

In general I would say its on the large side for the single 10, but I would say it would be ok for the 2 10's.
Im just assuming your going to end up with a pretty big box though, but maybe not.

To big of box isnt going to give as much as a "punchy" sound or feeling compared to one of the right size. It would sound a little more boomy and loose.

Also, to much power (or even rated power) and to big of a box can be a bad thing.

How about putting a divider in the middle, to have separate chambers for each sub. That way-problem solved

I was thinking of putting in a removable partition until I got 2 subs... Would it make a difference with 2 subs in one big box, or 2 subs in seperate boxes?

This is only an opinion, but 'some say' a partition is best, unless you are going for the passive radiator thing... But seriously, look into it before making your final decision.

no it wont be to much air space. I have done the same thing but raised it 3in with two 1.5 square tubing on each side and welded them together i have two 10 jlw3v2 and sound great i think i have about .7 or .8 cubic ft. I took pics of my box and posted it not to long ago, oh and i also took out the middle bracket like you were saying and it holds just fine if you have any questions just ask.
