Question 2005 Speaker Install

Has anyone installed speakers in the front doors of a 2005 F150...the usual wire boot is a plug now so you "can't" run wires through it.

I am trying to replace the factory with PG 5 1/4 and tweeter. My only thought is to tap into the factory speaker wires to run from my PG Route 66 amp to the new component speakers. Not really the best solution but its a lease, and I don't want to drill some new holes in the door.

Any thoughts?

mines an 04, and I cant imagine they made the 05 that much different in that area. I had no problem running all new wires from my head unit thru the wire tube into the doors. Are you sure your looking at it right??

Yes I pulled it apart and there is no way to fit any wires through it. There is a way to release the plug, which looks like most of the others throughout the truck.

I ended up just wiring into the factory harness then spliting of that in the door for my component speaker. Sounds good but Iknow it is not the best way.

Thanks for the reply anyway...
