help with sub

I'm looking for a decent sounding powered sub. I have seen several different ones, but don't know what works best in the truck. I want to place the sub under the rear seat. I have seen the Bazooka tubes and the Basslink, and a Kenwood Woos, or something like that. I don't have to have a ton of watts just good sound. Mainly old rock and early grunge. I guess size is a consideration. The subs I've seen are maily 6 1/2", or 7", with the Basslink being a 10". What are your opinions on these, or something better? Thanks for your help.

Depending on how much importance you place on "sound quality", you may or may not be happy with a powered sub like the ones you mention. In terms of performance, they are very average, at best, in comparison to what's available. However, for those who want that sort of quality level, they do offer convenience of installation, and are usually somewhat compact when compared to a custom made enclosure. And the subs and enclosures are engineered to be used together. The "name brand" ones, at least. There are some pretty lame ones out there also. Another "down side" is some are pretty costly for what you get, in my opinion. For someone who can build an enclosure, you can put together a much better set-up, performancewise, for the same $$$$.

I understand what you're saying, but I think the powered subs will work best for what I want. Have you, or anyone else, had any experience with the Bazooka tube or the Infinity Basslink? The Kenwood is a 6 1/2" called a WOOZ, only a 30 watt amp though. The Infinity is 200 watt, and the tube is 100. I'm not interested in impressing anyone with big bass. I just want some added kick for my system I'm building.
Thanks,
Rich

Of the ones you mention, the Infinity certainly would offer you the best range of bass response. And I'm pretty sure it will slide under the rear seat with some persuasion.
