if the box is built right, and you have good quality 10's getting enough power....they will hear you from much further away!

Pair of Incriminator Audio 187 10's in a ported box. About 100 bucks a sub. Guarentee you nothing in or around that price range will touch them spl wise-in the right box of course.

SoundSplinter rl-i's arent to shabby either. They are about 150 a piece.

Incriminatoraudio.com

soundsplinter.com

Or just go all out and do a cut through, put some good 15's in the back if you really wanna be heard.

But, why do you want to be heard 5 blocks away?

I remember listening to a pair of JL 10's too, they were either the W3's or the W6's-pretty sure it was the W3's, and they got pretty loud too.

i'm biased so i like phoenix gold. diamond audio has a few good subs. jl has the reputation of making the best subs, but their a little pricier. as far as amps, again i'll say phoenix gold (i love mine so why wouldn't i recommend them?) also diamond audio makes some sweet amps. just depends on what you want to system to sound like and how much of a budget you have.

The Phoenix Gold Tarantula series are sweet. Id like to get a 1200.1 Tarantula. Xenon's are suposed to be nice to. Ive heard they've had some problems with them, but are geting them worked out.

The rl-i's are dual 4 ohm, and Im pretty sure the 187's are too, so look for something that puts out around 800 watts RMS at 4 or 1 ohm( a pair of them can be wired either way)

Brands-
Arc Audio
Zapco
PPI(precision power)
Brax
JL
Diamond audio
etc

Theres tons other brands out there too-Id take the above first though-
Rockford Fosgate
Alpine
Viper
etc

I have a JBL BP600.1, rated at 600watts at 1 ohm, actually does about 375 or so. It would power them nice. You can get them refurbished for like 200 bucks too. Cheap and pretty decent quality. Another option if money is an issue.

Octogon,

Very nice setup. Your box has the look I want, is it vinyl or painted?
