MTX Thunderform

i have just purchased a mtx thunderform. havent hooked it up yet. already afraid that it needs a punchier sub. (came with a 4500) pushing with a rf 301s. dosent look like enough room to put much else in this box. anyone in here know?

thanks,

I have the Thunderform with two 8s. I upgraded to MTX Thunder 8000s. It was a great improvement, but the Thunderforms are what they are and nothing more. In fact, I'm seriously considering a new sub set-up, simply because the MTX is so lacking when compared to the rest of my system. If you have fair expectations of them they will give satisfactory bass to most people. If you compare it to someone's high end, custom made ported box that booms out extremely low bass that so many find impressive, then you may not think the Thunderform is so hot.

The thunderforms are made out of a plastic like stuff and will crack and break under a little pressure.i wouldnt put one of these in my truck if you paid me......one of the BEST ideas if you dont wanna lift the seat is a box by KICKER......with 2 8's...it kicks really good and costs about$400 Canadian......but it still wont compete with my 2 12 inch fosgates......149.8 DB"S in a truck?i am doin pretty good without any cutouts or walls.

The Thunderforms will not crack simply from their intended use. They are very well engineered and are made of a very high tech molded polyethylene. You would be hard-pressed to crack one if you tried. You may bend the poly out of shape, but it likely won't crack. They are subject to some flexing and resonations, but all in all, they are a viable choice for many people. But if you are a basshead who wants something to cave in your chest, these are not what you want. They are more for those who have an average system and want a nice balance with reasonable bass.

Ohh ok.new stuff?Well maybe when you get your"new stuff" you can ask whats so special then!Until then you try and top that. And also,an extra battery and stiffening cap DOES makes a huge difference.I dont know where you get your stereo knowledge from, but you better brush up on it.iI dont think there is too many guys in this website that would be able to compete with what i have.I also have a SECOND US Amps 100 hc to use in the truck if needed, but i havent had any reason to use it because nothing much can touch my system up here.So you just keep on tryin there bud LMFAO....let me know when you get your"NEW STUFF" LOL....then you might have to come ofr advice on how to hook it up or use it too

my mustang had 2 12"w7's with 2 jl 1000.1 firing them. In Custom ported boxes that were made in the trunk. JL 3 ways up front with a 300.4 bridged to 2 to fire them. Nver had it metered, but it doesn't matter. It was louder then your just because I don't like your attitude

Seriously though, mustang was one of the loudest I have every built.

Next to my bronco that had one 18" stroker in a 6 cubic foot ported box, fired up with 2 audiobahn hcx2300's. That was loud. I went through enough hard tops, to where I finally just had a soft top made for it.

Thanks dad. Excuse me now, while I go find the door to the internet.

To answer the question. You need to figure out the dimenstion of the MTX 4500 off the mtx site and compare them to other's. I would think that there are some rf's and possible some of the infinty's will fit in there. Then there is always all the internet bransds out there. I'm sure someone will chime in with something close to the same dimensions.

I kind of thought that was who, but you said it right after my post. So apology accepted and thrown back at ya.

The best thing in his posts was that he doesn't use a double battery or any caps, then later in the posts he says how the make suge a huge difference. That said why isn't he using them? My mustang had to have dual batteries, and dual 3 farad stinger caps. Caps some the power spikes, and the dual batteries keep them charged. A few times I ran out of power, everything stalled and shut down. Pretty scary to see. Everything just stops, engine, noise, radio, everything.

I feel good in knowing that my new F150 will be able to handle a system like that with nothing more then the stock battery and alternator. Phew

Haha, yeah Im usually not like this on the internet but in your case.....

YOUR A *******IN RETARD

A little stuck up, over confident, c0cky mainstream biach who thinks RF owns all because he owns it, and thinks all the underground companies suck because he's never heard of them.

If the cap and batteries are so great, then where the hell are yours? Oh yeah, ever heard of Richard Clark? If so, I rest my case, if not, better get your ***** in a line and "brush up" on your own knowledge.

If nothing can touch your RF system up there, then all the other systems must suck up there. I know plenty that can blow that piddly system outta the water without breakin a sweat.

Ill gladly invite you over for a little competition once I get my stuff, which will be set up for SPL, instead of SQ which mine is now if you think it sucks because it can possibly get loud. Ill sit in your truck and listen to your system while you grin thinking your the man, then let you listen to mine and I show you what a REAL system is. How would you like a pair of 12 inch IA Death Penaltys shoved in your face. At half volume?
Those 2 12" W7's that crudeau had would kill your RF's also.

Learn to type, and get a life.
