2Fast4U how long have u been running 2000W on stock alternator? I'm looking for a high-output amp and an Optima battery but haven't decided whether it's really necessary yet. $500 for an HO amp hmm, w/e.

 

Well..in regards to your"death penaltys", i dont know about that one....those things arent available up here,BUT i DO know that not too many AMPS can come close to the US Amps.AND......if you think so..then YOU better brsuh up on your knowledge.and also ....have you ever heard of DEF JEFF???he is the world record holder 5 different times and these amps came from him out of HIS competetion vehicle,AND he also built the box........so i dont know what kind of **** you guys have wherevere you are or what kind of box makers.....but all i know is that my truck sounds awesome and it is realllllllly hard to get that kind of SPL out of a STOCK electrical set up.IF you knew ANYTHING about stereos you would know that ....LMFAO......you MUST be American then....and in response to the last post.....$500 american for a HO alternator?i wouldnt do it...i can get em up here for about $299 Canadian....and that is a Bosch one.....12' JL w7's?Not a bad sub..but i wouldnt be useing JL amp on them at all.....JL makes reallly good subs( i never knocked em) but i am not really impressed with there amps at all......same as RF radios....i dont like them 1/2 as much as i like there subs.......AND to all those little ****y guys that think that i am too ****y because of my set-up...........dont be jealous........just cause you cant afford to get some nice stuff dont be angry at me..........and just in case......all of you...look into US Amps.....it just might be worth your while......trust me........

Well old man, if you would have read what I said, I didn't mention anything about knowing everything about car stereos, in fact all I did was call you an ***... and I stand by that. You're the biggest *** I've ever met. If you're so old and so knowledged then why don't you have respect and dedication? Because all you've done is build yourself up and put others down. I don't believe you. You aren't running that setup on the stock electrical system. It's not going to happen. There is only about 20-30 spare amps in a fully stock electrical system. There is no way that you can pump you system off of that. You have something, and from the sounds of it you just don't know it. Since this Def Jeff guy built your stuff, maybe he installed it as well. And you don't know what you have since Jeff is deaf and can't communicate with you.

I do believe that you are hitting the DB levels you are selling and that it sounds nice, but I don't believe that it's on the stock electrical system. Just isn't going to happen, hell when I turn on 5 KC spotlights the alternator starts to whine, and they are only 10 amps each. Can't tell me you are over 140 db's and using under 50amps total for the system.



By the way, I'm only 26, and have many upon many and then some more systems. Built my own, bought pre-built, and had custom installations. So I do have some knowledge. ANd I have a couple friends in Canada and they have some pretty decent setups. With the crime rate up there, I wouldn't be plastering around what my system was. I've heard some pretty nasty theft stories.

 

I do have a good question though. What 5 channel amps, components, and subs are making the best setups in 05 supercabs? I can't imagine any of these pro-box's that fire into the floor or the bottom of the seat sound any good. One thing I have never done in my life is installed a system in a truck under the seat. My trucks in the past have all been regular cabs. So I'm a little stuck figuring out which way to go with my new truck. I don't mind the seat lift provided it retains the factory seat workings (folding). ANd doesn't interfere with the power rear window. Wish My truck would come so I can have a look at the thing.

The Death Penaltys---IA is a internet company-so yes, you can get them up there numb nuts. And they would blow the shat outta your subs, if you were really so knowledgable you would know that.
