I am considering buying some marine speakers and mounting them in my bed. I think it would be pretty sweet, especially in the summer, or for tailgating.

I think my buddy could weld me up some enclosures, and mount them to the bed, I would cover them with line-x to match, and hopefully rig up some switch in the cab to control them.

Has anybody done or heard of anything like this?

 

Sounds like a good idea.

Might want to make the boxes small and easy to take out and throw in when you go tailgating if you dont have a cover to get them out of the elements when it get really bad, and if you ever need the extra space.

 

yeah, good call. I was thinking I would mount them at a small decline, like facing down slightly, so water wouldn't pool in them.

You think there would be room on the wheel well? between the tire and the bed?
