Custom Subbox Fab Help/Tips?
I made my first custom box and it fit nicely but it has several issue
1st box
1/2" MDF resonants with the big sub
I think the small volume (.65 with sub) and clearance to the floor is causing the sub to hit the floor and it taking too much power for my small amp RF power 150 (227watts rms @ 2 ohms)
I need some assembly tips for making the angled joints?
I routed the sides so that the small end pieces are fitted into the box. The bottoms sit flush onthe bottom plate and is screwed into the bottom but the top piece is angled. I mitered the joints for both pieces around 42-48 degrees. They mate up nicely but there is no meat to really pull the pieces tight and air is getting by.
how do the pros make joints on angles? just angle the sides and have the top piece sit flat on the box and nail it? any good sites?
I am going to test my theory and make one big box and just take up 60% back seat area
What is a good size for a dual ohm 10" sub? I was going to make a 1.2cu ft box
