Question So this is my new system, what are your thoughts?

I have in my possession of:

2 Kicker CVR12 competition series subs (800w RMS combined)
1 AudioBahn A8002T AMP (800w RMS)

What do you guys think? I'm just waiting on my custom sub box to get here and my new head unit, a Pioneer DEH-P9600.

So, what's your thoughts? All welcome.:santa:

Actually I replaced them over a year and a half ago, with some pioneer 5x7s up front, then I took some 6x8s from my dad's f150 and put them in my rear. I put teh stock 6x8's back there becasue I blew my original 5x7s.

I plan on replacing them with something better, and I'll probably throw some tweeters in my truck too. Somewhere down the line, I might end up amping the speakers too.

The box will be mounted behind the seat. It's designed quite differently than what everyone else has set up. Wait and see.:santa:

Sounds like it's gonna be pretty sweet when it's all done. That's a lot of sub for such a small cabin, though! Bah, who needs hearing anyway!

How long before we get to see pics?!

Going to the local shop and listening to them... I'm a big Boston Acoustics fan. Some alpines, JL, and many others are all good... it depends on your ears and that alone!!!

You do have a point there. Since the only place that carries this stuff and it works is Best Buy and they're a 30 minute drive away. I'd like to get a "what to look for" type of thing before I burn the gas going there.

In short.

BASS HEAVY.

Solution, Get a decent four channel or even a two channel to drive the mids and highs so that you better balance your system. What you have so far looks great Just don't stop there since there is som much more you can accomplish.

That's why I'm going to amp the speakers and get some tweeters once I get a little more $$$.

'So much more to accomplish', what do you mean?

So much more you can accomplish means having a nicely balanced system. Great bass response, great impact from midbass, great transients and dynamics from your midrange and tweets. Ultimately, your goal should be to recreate the music as the artist intended. Being that a vehicle is far from the perfect listening environment and generally an acoustic nightmare because of resonance and reflections. There is alot of tweaking, damping and speaker placement that can be done that will greatly reduce alot of the problems we face in the car audio world.

It's all about audio nirvana. Once you catch the bug and listen to how good it can be through a high end reference system you will see that the path to audio enlightenment is long and at times frustrating.
