I have scoured the messageboard, and don't see where anyone documented....

1) How to remove the side panel in an Expy with factory sub.

and

2) Once removed, how to replace sub, and what size/brand they
used.

Your going to have to stick a screw driver in the side and pop it out. You'l then see the sub itself. But the you run into another prob. The apparently made it so you have to pull the entire right side panel out to get to it and that the speaker is locked in with some pins or something. Trust me it pissed me off. If you unscrew all the screw on the outside it still won't come out. I have yet top figure out what is holding it in there. Mine is working just fine but it's not deep or loud enough with the base. So with a combo of my Mach system in the Eddie Bauer (99 so its not much diff from yours) I ran what I called an LOC unit which lower the voltage so you don't fry your amp. It puts the volts to an appropriate level, then cut those speaker wires. Hook up the device, then run the rca cable to the amp, then the speaker wires and power wires hook up like normal. I hooked up a 12 sub in the back that hits pretty damn hard. With not very much effort. Now I have the nice medium. I have PLENTY of base. deep enough to hear in the car next to you with the windows up, and a 800.2 Kicker amp to run it. Sounds good and I'll never go back. Not to mention I still have cargo room on the other side of the box where the amp is. But I don't need the cargo room. Its only me and my dog... SO I can throw groceries or somerthing on the damn seats in the backl...haha.
