He's right and no, I have the 6 disc changer only. Taped into the 4 speaker wires behind the radio with 2 LOCs and then ran RCAs to my amp. Then ran all new speaker wires from the amps.

Does the brand of LOC's matter? Which did you use?

It should not make that much of a differance. Not sure of the brand I have, I got them at Best Buy. Of course just make sure they have the gain ajustments on them. Although, I'm not sure if they even make any with out them.

Thanks.

I have the F150 S-Crew Lariat 4x2 with the standard 6 disc. I was going to just buy an audiophile sub/amp and deck online for $300. But I think I will be more happy spending the extra cash and building your system. I know I saw it in another post but would you mind replying with models of the amps you used.

Thanks for your time. By the amount of attention you get in this forum I think we could say you have one of the most sought after setups! Great Job.

I appreciate it, but there are many other real nice setups on here that would work as well. Just depends on the look and output that you are wanting to get.
The sub amp I have is the Avionixx 400.2. I took it apart and painted it so it would not stand out so much in it's location. That is also the reason I lefted the amp on brackets so it does not show so much from most angles. It is the 1st one on this site. http://www.woofersetc.com/subcatmfgp...0&1=621&2=1078
The new RE8s are duel 4 ohm and mine are single 2 ohm models, so make sure and get an amp to match the new ones if you go with the RE8s. My 4 channel amp is a cheap Xplore model that was given to me. It works fine and has 50x4 watts. It can not be seen at all under the seat, so I left it red. If you put one under there, keep in mind that there is a vent under there and not to block it. Just raise the back end up as I did with long screws. Remember, others on here have put their amps behind the rear seat. From what I've read, it's a bit of a pain to remove the back of the seat though. I didn't go that route only because I wanted easy access for ajustments and such. I think there is a thread on how to remove the back of the seat on here if you wanted to go that route. Just do and search, it should come up.
Good luck!!
