'02 Expy needs components installed.
hey gurus of the ford trucks,
i have ordered a set of polk db6500 components (6.5" woofer) to replace the factory speakers in my front doors. my question is:
is the hole in the door a standard 6.5" opening or do i need an adapter? and has anyone installed tweeters in the front pillar (opposite side of the side-mirrors)? if so, do you have any picture of the install and the insides of the doors that you can post? any help, tips, suggestions, etc will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance,

For the speakers to fit in the doors you will need to fabricate an adapter/spacer out of 1/2" MDF. As for mounting the tweets in the pillars that should not pose a problem. It would be easier to surface mount the tweets but you could mold them in with fiberglass if you are so inclined.
