Question lookin for some bass

I have a 94 regular cab with a bench seat and im lookin into getting some subs and an amp (around 300-400$). Im not sure on what to get and i havent had any experience with subs/amps.
I need some opinions on what to do, and would appreciate any help.

For a reg cab I would look at getting 2 RE 8" subs and a box to fit behind the rear seat. RE=Resonant Engineering. Do a web search and you should be able to find them. They hit pretty hard, sound great and don't require tons of room. Any 8" subs would work for that matter but the aforementioned are probably the best for the money. I would give them about 300 watts RMS total and that should give you more than enough to satisfy your bass needs. If you can build your own box you could save a little bit there but if you can't then you can just get a prefabricated box that will do well for about $75-100. Your looking at a total price with wire kit for the amp probably just a touch over $400.

Just ordered two RE8's for my own sub project. I got prices from visionary audio of $112 for two shipped. I also got a quote from RE for $111 for two shipped. Hope this helps.

Just under 4''. Sealed is .217 and ported is .50. This is for each sub. RMS is 175 watts. They will do fine with anywhere from 80 watts to 200 watts.

Just get one that can around 150 watts x2 or 300 x 1 at what ever ohm the subs end up being. Mine were single 2 ohm. Good luck, you will enjoy them.
