Lightbulb JL 10in sub?

First Post. WOO.

In a month i am getting an 01 flareside f150 reg cab with the buckets seats. Behind the bucket seats are two short black bins that open up from the top ( the left bin contains a 6 disc changer ).

My Problem is here:
* I can get a good deal on a 10in Jl 10w3 right now but I am not sure if i can remove one of the bins or relocate the 6 disc and remove both bins, in order to get a box made for the sub(s).

If it helps I know a guy who builds custom boxes, but i need my truck in order to get an opinion from him, so I am stuck. Should i buy the sub now or wait till i get my truck and risk paying more later?

Also if this is possible what kind of amp would yall recommend for One JL 10w3? Also what amp if i happen to get 2 Jl 10w3s?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Why not get the JL stealth box that goes into the center console?

If its that good of a deal you should be able to buy the sub now then sell it later if you have to and not lose money on it.

Im in the same situation. the boxes are all in the way. Im either going to put something like 3 12" w0s in my reg cab or go with something like 2 10" w6v2s. I just have to talk to my stereo man and see what he can do for me.

BTW is it a pain to take out the stock six changer? I want a normal single in dash player instead of the annoying thing behind my seat

I would use the stealthbox, but i have 40/60 seats

I talked to a friend last night and showed him my truck. Supposedly I will be able to easily get w6v2s behind the seat. I just have to decide if i want to drop that much money on my system. The box is going to have to be creative though, because of that wierd bump out from the wall. Why is that there anyways?!?

Thats good to know because i was hopin to go with 2 10w3v2's cuz i can get both for about 180 from a friend and then get another friend to hook it up with a box and wires and everything.

So what amp would be pretty good for 2 10w3v2s, that you have tested or heard or just like?????

Sounds like a good friend to have. That is a good deal especialy if they are new.

If your not looking to drop a bundle on the JL 500.1, the Hifonics BX 1000D is a nice amp for speakers like those. Just did an instal for a member here with a similar setup and it pounds. Sealed enclosure too. Should be able to find it in the $225 range shipped on e-bay. With the W6's, I like the BX 1500D They run around $250

Foo, Welcome to the forums here!

Im more than likely going to end up with a Kenwood amp. The guy that checked out my truck has a 1000w kenwood for $125 if i buy it. Hes doing me a big favor, but its nothing to him because he has 2 memphis mojo 15s and a 1200w audiobahn amp hooked to each one all in a ported box. You cant hardly sit in the thing.

Its funny because his box takes up the whole area in his extended silverado where his back seat is supposed to be, and he had to move his front seats up a little too.

Lots of amp run 1 ohm stable, lots of subs are 2 ohm DVC, allowing for 1 ohm loads

Please let me know where I can get 1000 watt 1 ohm stable Mark Anthony for $215. I'll take 2 of them right now! The Hifonics is a class D with Sub Sonic Filter, 18 db X-over with remote Bass EQ. Best bang for that kind of money I've ever used. A pair of dual 4 ohm also will run 1 ohm.

Why did you say "215..not bad but might as well jus get urself a mark antony amp instead," when HE clearly can not get one for that price or close to it?

Thats like me telling someone to get a new Zapco 6.0 for $600 authorized, then someone asks where and I say oh I get them locally and its only for me. Whats the point of even mentioning it if ONLY YOU can get the deal?

Hifonics is a good amp for the money Autotek is another one. I'd rather the Autotek, but I have seen many Thors and Brutus amps run around here with out problems.
