Question box size for 2004

My truck was ordered on Monday and I'd like to get a jump
on building a sub (my first). Does anyone have dimensions
for a box that will fit under the rear seat -60% side? It's a scab.
Could anyone reccomend drivers and amp? I don't want to blow the windows out , just good tight bass. Do I really need 400 watts? My paradigm at home is rated for 150 watts and shakes the whole house! Is there a difference in car audio? Thanks for any replies.

Home audio is far more efficient. Depending on the sub, you could need WELL over 400 watts. Thats the problems of car audio.

Thanks, I didn't know if the screw and scab were the same.
How do you think that box would work without the port?
Would I need more volume?

My bad, I mess the part about you having a scab. Not sure if it is the same. May be someone can help with this. Is it the same size under the rear seat of both.
I had a sealed box in the same place. It sounded very good, just not near the out put of the ported box. If you go sealed, you will not need as much volume. You can go with less. The 8''subs I have call for .217 each sealed. Depends on what kind of out put your looking for.

The back seats are indentical and yes it will fit.

Depending on the subs you go with, the ported box will play lower frequency's louder. Depends on what kind of music you like and what sort of gear your looking to use. I highly recomend the RE's especialy if your looking at 8's with as much power as you can give em.

I just finished mine yesterday. I ordered a box from subbox.net I have a Kendwood Indash dvd with 6.5 video Kenwood 800 watt Amp and a audiobahn awp310t 10" Subwoofer. It took alittle riggin on the box to keep the sub from sitting on the floor but it works great now and it does hit hard. I am finally happy. If you would like pics let me know and I will email them to you twcpres@yahoo.com
