What Size speakers??

What Size speakers??

Ive got a 97' single cab flareside F150, i was wantin to know what size speakers i need to buy and whats a good speaker thats cheap??

All 97+ F-150's have 6x8 speakers. Most 5x7 speakers also fit.

How "cheap" do you mean? The cheapest good speaker I recommend is the Pioneer 2-way 6x8 for about $40 at Etronics. Next step up is the Infinity Kappa 572.5cf that I just bought for about $100/pair shipped.

so if i get either 6x8 or5x7 they will fit

yes, but you may have to drill new mounting holes for some 5x7's.

Speaker Strategy

I would spend the xtra money for the Infinities if you do not plan to amp or upgrade in the near future(12 months). Even if you do they will handle lots of extra power.

aight sounds like i should go get me some Infinity's, what series do you have??or what are they called??? i know they are infinity's but what ones??

If you are not going to use an external amplifier, the Reference series is probably better because they are more efficient. Otherwise, I bought the Kappa. Crutchfield has better information on the products, but not as good prices. However, Crutchfield has excellent customer service and includes a connector from the OEM speaker harness so you don't have to splice anything.

i am running kappas up front in my scab an i love. you need a decent amount of juice to get great sound out of them but they rock.
