space behind magnet

how much space minimum is needed between the back of the enclosure and the magnet (or back) of the subwoofer in a downfiring enclosure? Also how much space should be between the front of the sub and the floor?

At least .25"

Here is the deal...air flows through the hole in the magnet to cool down the coils. So you want enough space for the air to circulate freely through the hole. The more power you are sending, the more careful you should be so that you do not overheat and damage your sub.

Check the sub manufacturer's website, they should publish the information you are looking for.

Don't know if it's correct or not ..I read somewhere it's good to have the distance be double the size of the vent hole...

I do not know about that

I think that much room may be overkill. Air does not need that much room to circulate.
