Focal polyglass comps

HOLY COW!!!
Listened to the Focal Polyglass, focal access, and another lower line of the Focals.

WOW, did the polyglass 6.5 component set rock!!
Blew the access line away.
I can only imagine how the Utopia's sound. Must be pure audiophile bliss.....
Local shop here in BR, LA wants 350.00 for the 6.5 polyglass comps.

Got my PGs locally in New Orleans a good bit cheaper, but is that the 3 ways or 2 ways? The Utopias I have are quite nice, but they need some EQing and a sub, but the low end out of the Utopias is pretty nice.

That is the focal PG 2way. 6.5 midwoofer and the silk tweet. I believe it is silk at least. I could clearly hear the difference in the sound room. WOW very impressed with the clarity and it did not sound harsh or sting my ears. I listened to several different artists on one CD, in mp3 format too.

I think I may purchase all of my stuff off of ebay and install it myself. I found one seller that has what I have now changed my mind to. I am so undecided it is ridiculous!!!
How does this sound?
Clarion dxz835mp HU
Focal PG 6.5 2 way comps
JL e2150 amp.

Local shop here wanted 800.00 just for the comp install and the amp install. I can buy all 3 of my needed items and install them myself for LESS than that. GEEZ its expensive.

Yes it is quite expensive! Honestly you can do a better install yourself.

The Clarion is a good solid deck. Just check into Eclipse decks too.

As for the amps I used to own a 300/2 and was pretty happy with it, but was happier with the Zapco i replaced it with. As for their lower line stuff I don't have much experience with it, but I think I would rather the Autotek.

The speakers are great, but midbass may be a little lacking pending on where you place them. Also I would definately lookin into kicks over the stock location even the Q-forms are worth it and they can be had for right at $100 on ebay. If music is something you really want to get into and really want somethign good out of it the 3 way set may be something to look into, that was the only regret I had about the 165Vs, but at that point I hadn't deadened my doors.

I replied to your email too...

I live right down the street from Denham Springs. We were just at the walmart earlier.

Don't know that this means anything, but I just thought I'd put it out there.

I listened to them at David's Car Stereo off of Siegen Lane.

Did not buy them there though. Way pricey.

On the way:

Focal 165v comps
Clarion dxz835mp
JL 300/4

Now trying to figure out what sound deadening material to put on the doors. I think I might go with Hazard's suggestion with the Stormguard. Maybe the Peal & Seal????

Any suggestions???? Apply it where? Doors for sure, but where else is good to apply?
