Question about port placement.

Does the location of the port make a difference in SQ? Is it better in one location as opposed to any others? Anyplace a port should not be located. Any answers are appreciated.

Not a big ported box fan, but from what I understand is that the port is supposed to be on the same plane as the speaker.

Do slotted port and dont make it too small ( the surface area ) becuase you will usually get too much port noise.

port placement

the port does matter, you may try many placements in a "dry run" in another place to see if you like the port to vent towards you or to a surface where it may load, your sub must also be able to load off of something. if you have it in an open area you will not get as much bass responce from it.
