Someone give me second opinion

Amp is RF 301S
75X2 @ 4ohm
150x2 @ 2 ohm
300x1 @ 4 ohm 4ohm stable in bridged

Speaker is RF 400 rms 800 peak dual 4 ohmVC

Seems like the only option for wiring this sub is each voice coil independently. which would give 75 watts each coil. Is this correct. Wiring the sub in parallel would give 2 ohm load but amp isnt stable to 2ohm. Am I correct in my thinking. Seems like the sub would be a little underpowered.

The 75x2 may not give you the umphhhhh you want....... is there any way you can trade the 4 ohm dvc for a 2ohm dvc? or a 4 ohm svc??????

Sub and amp are simply not a good match. I think I would opt for another sub that would be suitable for the amp. That would be the quick and easy fix. Like DonnyD said, something to give you the 4 ohm set-up that will be around 300 watts RMS.

Brent,

It would be kinda crazy on his part to do that. The box will be fine for most 12" subs available. Even if the box is ported you can easily recalculate the port length for the replacement sub. Would at least be cheaper for him to replace the sub instead of the amp. Or he could always use the 2 channel amp on his front stage speakers then get a second more powerful 2 ohm stable mono block or 1 ohm stable 2 ch amp.
