Just installed my new system. Alpine 7995 HU, A/D/S 6.25 for the doors and Hifonics son of thor running two MTX 4500s behind the rear seat. I bought a "homemade" box off ebay, well not really a box. It is not enclosed, it's basically the front with no enclosure. It uses the back of the cab as an enclosure. Kind of like someone was going to glass in the back and this would have been the front of the enclosure. Anyway I got burned but I only saw it installed in the truck so I didn't know. I only paid 50 bucks so I am cool with it. To my question, I am going to get a box like the back seat driver for the 2 10s but want to know how much, if any dynamat type stuff some of you used? Right now it sounds horrible on any note over 80hz but most of that is the box. But it does rattle terribly and I can only imagine it's the same with any other box behind the seat. The slider sounds like it's going to jump out of it's track and shatter! Any guidance would be a help. If I glass in the back and use the set up I have will the fiberglass reduce the rattle? do u have any pics of the box/piece of a box? out of the truck pics would help give an idea of how to seal it it u do end up using it.

 

I'll try and get some pictures on by tomorrow. Basically looks like a normal enclosure without the top, back, or bottom.

 

I went and checked out a local shop. They want 350 to glass in the back and build a box for 2 10s. I can get a premade box anywhere from 99 bucks at sound off audio to 175 with Supercrew sounds. I think I am going with a premade. Do I need to put the sound dampening in? Does anyone know how many sq feet would be needed for behind the back seat of a Supercrew? Thanks for any responses.
