Box Design

I was wondering if anybody had plans for a sub box to go under the rear seat of a 01 Screw. I will buy what ever subs need to be in it to fit the specs that your plan has.

Thank again guys

You can get some ideas on the shape of the box here. But you will have to get the measurements yourself.

Thanks for the ideas. i have come up with a plan, just one more question my plan has a max mounting depth of 5-1/4 inches and the sub the i plan putting in it has a mounting depth of 5 inches is that ok. i have read that there should be more space between the bottom of the magnet and the box. is a 1/4 inche enough space? thanks again you guys have been a major help.

You need at least an inch between the back of sub and the box.
If you dont have any more space you will probably need to lift your rear seat. Although Im not sure if you can do it on the Screws or just the super cabs.

Oh yeah, I noticed your from nebraska too, what town do you live in?

Im assuming you have it firing up into the seat.

You should leave at least 3/4" between the top of the sub itself and the bottom of the seat.

I would say if you are set on that sub, you're going to want to raise your seat. I havent seen how the back seats in the Screw are mounted so I dont know how hard/possible that would be.

No It is a downfiring box similar (ALMOST Identical) to the ScrewDriver. It has a 5-1/4 mounting depth as stated before. Any ideas an a sub. it has .60cu ft. And for Bartak1 i live in neligh (30 miles west of Norfolk.

PS is it safe to use 5/8 board rather the 3/4. It would give me some extra depth. I will post my plans asap.

thanks

5/8ths is probably ok. The only thing is that it will flex alittle more, but i would say you would be fine going with it.

are you going to go with a 10 or 12 inch sub? The reason I ask is because there arent very many 12's that will fit in a box with only .6 cuft. that ive ever seen.

As for subs, you pretty much need to go listen to some and see what you like bset(as far as sound)
I would suggest maybe going to Rex's is norfolk or somewhere like that. Some good brands are like Rockford Frostgate, polk, Infinity (Kappa perfect series) and Iv heard some good stuff about Elemential Design. I went to radio shack in Oneill the other day and the guy said thy will be getting in some Alpine Type-R's, and I think Im going to get one of those.

I live south of Ewing. You probably know where that is

good luck

With a downfiring box you want to have about about 2 inches between the bottom of the sub and the floor.

I think you need to look at raising your seat. But maybe you can get it to fit. Like I said earlier I dont know what it looks like under the seat so if you can do it,

Sure you did...it was my original request that you had already responded too. I wasn't too sure if you were going to get my request so I posted something here as well.

mtx 8000 10" is what I used and it sounds great. It is side vented so the box can be shallow. It will also work great in .6 box but i recommend using polyfill.
