Question Help, Bass carrying

okay, for everyone with really big systems, here is my problem. I have two Kicker Solobaric 12" L7s powered by a kicker 1200.1 mono amp that is runnin at 1 ohm. My problem is that since i do drive a F-150, it is more difficult for the subs bass to carry as opposed to as if it were in a SUV. The subs hit really good and they sound great, but any suggestions as how i can make the bass carry further outside the truck than it already does?

And the purpose of that would be?

So you can impress people as you drive by?

Its people like you who are the parasites to this hobby! Its people like you why laws are being past to restrict the hobby!

Whats the purpose of having a loud system outisde the truck? If this offered any real benefit then I believe sound deadening companies would go out of business...Honestly that is retarded and would just detract from the sound within the truck...

Also, most people who hear it outside don't think that the driver is cool, but rather some punk kid who is trying way to hard!

Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

I would have to agree with Hazard for the most part.

What exactly would the purpose be of that???? Wouldn't you rather the system impress only those who ride in the truck rather than the stranger on the corner?? I mean it is really sweet of you to think that the world will also enjoy your music but that is just simply not the case.

Been somewhat of a really bad day...the littlest things have been setting me off. Then just the flat out reverse racism down here is really pissing me off! (honestly some people will never understand why some people are so racist until they have lived down here) ...Really I think this is going to be one of my last trips back to New Orleans!

Car are deigned to give a quiet ride, thus keeping the inside sound in and the outside sound out. Why would you try to undo what the car was designed to do? Allowing more sound to travel will allow more road noise to interfere with the stereo...It was like what would be the purpose of me putting a loud exhaust on my truck when I am going for an SQ system? There would be no purpos becase that would be counter productive to everything I have done up to this point as far as deadening trying to make my truck quietier.

Just rember most people do NOT want to hear your stereo at a read light or when your diving around!

Then I just watched T3 and the ending kinda sucked! I think the first two were better...the 3rd may have lived up to it if it was longer. Damnit! this is just a ****ty day!

Sometimes you just gotta laugh though it may seem hard.

And hey, that thing about loud exhaust, I think you happened to be talking about me

Just kidding, I got the quietest flowmasters they had. I wanted the performance and throaty V8 rumble of duals, but not the typical drone you get in the cab from louder exhaust so the deltas fit the bill nicely and the cab is quiet for the most part going down the road. You know that the noise floor in a car/truck will never ever be good though regardless of how much dynamat and quiet exhaust you use. There is just too much wind noise that the glass itself let's through. But maybe one day someone will come out with quiet glass that actually absorbs sound instead of resonating.

Man I try...but it really is hard down here epsically when I think about the people that broke into my truck!

But yea I know exactly what you mean about the sound. We drive a cinder block on wheels. Deading the floor and doors really do cut out a lot of the road noise though, and I havent done my roof yet, but I hope to soon, perhpas around Christmass time.

I dont have to worry too much about my exhaust being too loud as I only have the v6. Its not too shabby I dont really hear it until I get on it; I got the magna flow single in dual out.

I don't think it would be as fun if it weren't a challenge.

No way...its fun, and aggervating, and annoying at times, but in the end its more than worth it. There nothing like it when you can sit back in the truck late at night listening to some very well recorded music and just closing your eyes and picture the band right in front of you...I love it!

Grab a cold brew, sit back, and relax...

(home audio is nice too, but much more expensive )

True, but my home system blows my trucks out of the water. Not even remotely close. But it kinda helps being 15 ft or so away from the speakers.

But I know exactly what you mean about just sitting back, drinking a few brews and listening to some great music. Although I find myself criticizing my system during those times so I never thought beer drinking could be so darn expensive of a hobby, oops, I mean past time.

You two guys need your own forum ....ha ha ha ! What ,you made it through two whole posts about this guys topic at the top...ha ha ha.....Cgorris ..If you didn't want drone with exhaust why did you go with Flowmaster(yes even the quiet ones)? FLows are notorious for DRONE........SaHs..Not sure why you want bass outside the truck? Close all your windows and add a sunroof...Then your cab would be like an SPL enclosure....

Roush,

I was just torn over the mufflers I went with. I know that the flows do drone some but I like the rumble they give @ WOT. I mean I am sure we would all love to have our cake and eat it to so to speak but I like performance and audio. I guess I will just have to buy a Lexus/Caddy/Lincoln/Infinity or some other profusely deadened luxury car next, just to go totally overboard on the SQ end of the spectrum. Then again, no. I believe I will stick with big red and add even more sound deadener. 10 layers outta do it.

Too bad it would be a bitch to put the carpet back on with that much sound deadener, or I'd it in a heartbeat!
