Well the Crutchfield site is down right now so I was unable to see the exact sub that you are referring to. However, Kicker does make some nice subs that put out great sound and will last for a very long time provided that you don't abuse them. Just put the right amount of power on them and be sure they are in a good enclosure and you can't go wrong.
There is the same sub for half price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18803
I think you should think about one of these subs. Everybody who I know who has them seems to love them.http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep2/kseries.htm BTW Don't spend a $150 dollars for a kicker comp vr. They aren't worth that much.

No bad choice.
Listen, no, do not get the Comp Vrs. THey are definately not worth the money and in a F-150 they will not be heard by anyone except by you, noone outside the vehicle. If you want a bad system take the route I did. I have two Kicker L7 Solobaric 12". These jokers are bad, and im pushin them with a Kicker 1200.1 amp. I am definately not the only one hearin these. And for only 50 dollars more per sub they are def. the better deal.
I have to disagree with both Invalid and Sahs on this.
First, why would you even want to play your system for the masses?? Doesn't that seem a little immature?? You are the one paying for the system and should be the only one enjoying it. I am pretty sure that the 50 year old grandfather of 7 does not enjoy hearing you "pump your bass". In fact if asked he would more than likely reply "your gonna go deaf" or "Listen to that little dip****" either way it is not the response you are wanting. Not to mention how discourteous it is to those around you. Have some respect.
Second, The comp VR is worth the money and is a nice sounding sub that you would do well with if put against any sub in the same price range. Are there better subs out there? Yes. Are there better subs out there for the same price? Maybe, they all sound different and what appeals to your ear may not to others. I have heard people say that the ED subs are good and like them alot. While that is good for the person with the ED subs that does not mean that you will be happy with them. I personally would not buy any piece of equipment without hearing it first and for this reason I would not select the ED because I have never heard them and I don't know anyone that is running them currently that I can listen to them and judge for myself. I suggest you go to a local stereo shop and listen to what they have and then make your decision.

CGorris: That was just a suggestion I made. He wanted my opinion and got it. Plus why would you pay $150 dollars for a sub when you can get it off ebay for $75.

Invalid: I wasn't trying to down play your opinion at all. That was not my intent even if it may have seemed so. My comments were more geared to Sahs when he said a very stupid thing about people outside the car hearing you. Sounds like he needs to grow up a bit. Anyway, I do agree that you can get the same sub for less from other places. One thing you have got to consider is that many of the places where you can save a few dollars on the sub, are not authorized dealers of the products they sell and if you have a problem you are just SOL. I guess it depends if having a local shop or authorized internet dealer to back you up on warranty matters makes a difference to you. In my opinion, if everyone was buying their equipment online then what is going to keep the independent dealers in business? Do we really want no local dealers with vast amounts of knowledge? The internet is a great place to find deals but the support is not there and that is what you are paying for when you buy from a local shop or authorized dealer.
Well I have had good and bad luck with local dealers. The one place I trade with now is really nice. They carry memphis audio, diamond, and eclipse. I wanna get two eclipse aluminum cones next year and spend some time building a fiberglass box for them. The other audio dealer around here is high on everything. They are saleing everything at double the value on internet. I like to distribute my little bit of money. I do like to help someone earn a commission. I know the people working at these places can't be in it as much for the money.
