door speakers

i have a 1990 f150 and want to upgrade my door speakers to ones that will handle at least 50 watts each. id like some that will give me higher notes as well. im running a pair of 8 inch subs behind the seat with a 160 amp so i have plently of bass. do you think i could go ahead and run the stock speakers off of a 50 watt amp and be happy. they dont sound to bad now, but i dont think they will handle the extra power. what speakers are you all running in your doors, thanks.

If you still have stock paper speakers from a 1990... I would wager that a 50W amp will blow them out rather quickly.

Thumbs up 55- ******

I'd replace them, You can get some cheap ones that will handle 50 watts RMS and probably be enough to give you what you are looking for.
Buy online, check these sights

I dont know what size a 1990 has. Where they 6X8's back then too?

Good luck Let us know what you pick

Your factory speakers are probably shot after all those years of use.
