Check out LightningCrew's gallery. He's got a nice sub setup in his console!

This is dufunnel's Truck. It's a rear console in a King Ranch but I think they are the same size. The sub is a 12". I don't know exactly how he put it together but I remember him saying it's just a square box inside the console.

Here are some pics of the one I built myself. One pic shows the dimensions:

Thanks for the replies guys, but how hard is it to take that console out and put the sub under there?

Very easy!! There are four large lock nuts that bolt the entire thing to the floor. Pull out the cupholder up front and you will see two of them. Remove the tray from the inside of the console and you will see the other two. Once you remove it from the truck, there are four screws that hold the outer shell to the inner shell. The inner shell has about 8 screws that hold it together (it is two sides).

Thanks! That sounds easy! How good does the sub sound in the console? I'd like to put one there b/c I don't use the console, but I don't wanna give up the space under the back seats.

I was more than happy with the install. Now, it won't blow the windows out, but it fills the cab with a nice rubble and boom - enough to shake the seats. The design I posted will allow you to still use the tray in the console, but if you want to get more airspace in the box, you can make it taller.

Thanks for the advice fellas, I'm not trying to blow the windows (or my eardrums) out, just having nice base. I think I'll use the console.

Thumbs up

LightningCrew's system sounds really good. I think you'll be happy with a sub in your console.

One thing I forgot to mention - in my pics, you see quick connects for the speaker wires. I ended up having to remove these due to air leaking through them and making a rattling sound. Covered and sealed the hole and just ran the speaker wire through a small drilled hole and sealed it up with silicone caulk.

Also, the entire box is coated with bedliner spray that you can buy at Advance or AutoZone. Once I sanded and sealed all the seams, I sprayed a couple of coats of the bedliner spray on the box - created a very nice finish.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck!!
