Those cabins are sweet. And yes there is plenty of space to get away. We had one like that with a basement floor with about 4 rooms alone down there.

It's pretty nice up there. I went last winter and had a pretty nice time. We rented a cabin that slept like 18 or something but was only 3 real bedrooms. Perfect since we only had 3 couples that went. They tend to put twin beds in random rooms and count sofas as to being able to sleep 2.

How was Hot Springs. I got back two weeks ago from gatlinburg and it was great. mid 50s in the morning, upper 80s in the afternoon. saw a black bear with some cubs around the cabin in the mountains.just great but you are right about the gas, from my house to the cabin is 756 miles one way then we went drive in the mountains and that wasn't good on a tank of gas. i thought my truck did real good on the highway i got 18.8 mpg doing 72 to 75 with cruise controll on.

Hot Springs is OK but no Gatlinburg, we went up there to meet my daughter and son-in-law and grandson. They towed their trailer from Oklahoma and we camped out with them for 5 days. The KOA was close to a water park and we had a great time but at 60 year's old I'm getting a little too old for all that stuff!! I still prefer the Smokies in late Sept or October, beautiful when the leaves are changing.
