Hope I didnt fudge this up too bad but it looks terrible to me. I accidentally gouged the aluminum in the transmission pump cover when taking the seal out.

Will the new seal cover this up and save the day or will it still leak?

How in the heck? That seal is easily pressed in by hand and shouldn't have given you that much trouble.

You need to smooth down that gouge in the bushing with a rat tail file. Be gentle. Just get rid of that lip so it doesn't cause problems.

I can't tell you how that is or isn't going to seal up. It looks bad. If the question is "what would you do?" My answer is that I would replace it.
