When he wrecked the 02 I noticed MERC on the police report, kinda laughed to myself. Looked at the title and it was right. Learned something new

Yeah there aren't too many people who do it now. The one's who do don't do it very tastefully either imo.

Well finished up. About 5 hours. No buffing, just a wash/dry, decontamination of paint, blackfire sealant. Was going to make a thread but hard to get good pictures of the silver. In person it's night and day difference. Pictures not so much

Before

And After

Not to bad for a 15 year old 134,000 mile $3200 suv. I'm happy. This evening going to do the headlightsame restoration. Going to go look at Walmart and O'Reilly and see what they have

Actually found a turtle wax product that is good! The headlight restorer comes with the compound, 4 types of sand paper, and clear after they are done.

Not missing anything, lol. Patrick got me the same deal on the last one with the same miles but it was a 02. This is a 01.

Of course you have the majority of people that think cause it's a Benz it's worth 6 to 8k and don't care about blue book. The guy I bought the 01 from yesterday had it 18 months and bought a new BMW sports sedan so he didn't drive the ML. He gave me the paper work that from when he bought it and he paid 8k.

He didn't look at value of what it was worth so when it came time to put it up for sale at 6k, no bites, tried 5k no bites, 4250 no bites then when he listed for 35 started getting calls. I tried to get it for 3k but we decided on $3200.

Interior is pretty nice also. I'm taking it tomorrow to get the carpet cleaned but seats etc are great. It also has all MB service records since 2002.

By the pics it looks like a new one. I bet dad is gonna be like a proud pea**** driving that buggy around Angelo. I guess I'll have to breakdown and get me some of that Blackfire sealant for my white SCRew. Looks fabulous on silver, should look good on white.

There isnt a huge market for a 15 year old German SUV. Most people are afraid to own them because the parts are very expensive, and most mechanics won't touch them with a 10 foot stick

Yes -- you may be able to afford to buy a Benz, but you probably won't be able to afford to own a Benz.....

We had a phrase for that when I worked on Land Rovers. (kinda same mentality)

They are a hundred thousand dollar millionaires

Spend a little bit of money on a car and act like they're hot S***

See that's where Patrick Helps., He gets Parts Cheaper and then we just get him to do the Labor. Pretty funny every time something goes wrong first thing dad says is get ahold of Patrick and see if he will do it. I was just told that last week with the alternator and belt replacement on the 99.

I don't want to brag on Patrick to much , but he has been real good to us and we really appreciate it.

It is in great shape, Hopefully i never have to look for another one again but if i do it will be strictly individuals. These cars lots over the last month saying great shape, looks new, drives perfect they were total junk, it left a bad taste in my mouth with these little car lots.

As far as the Blackfire, this is the first light color vehicle i have done and still very impressed. IMO you can't get a better combo. If you do decide to get it go ahead and spring for the wet ice over fire combo. Comes with the Sealant and their pure 100 percent carnuba.
