on another note, i also purchased the SnapOn version of the extractor tool, has an actual metal tap, and much finer threads to thread into the metal sleeve.

Hope i never have to try it out

Pat, I never got an answer in the other thread, are you putting nickel anti seize on the plug sleeves when you install the new plugs?

It seemed to me that he indicated that he wasn't putting anything on the plugs when he installed the new ones, and I'm curios why.

I didnt on the first two trucks, because I didnt realize it was recommended, and also didnt have any on hand.

This third truck I did do antiseize only on the sleeve portion of it. Not on the threads.

Just did one with 113k miles. All came out clean. Followed the write up and for me to fit the cordless impact in there I had to unplug the ecu and remove it. Unplug all fuel injectors and all connectors running off that wiring harness near valve covers. That included removing the throttle body to unplug a plug that had the depress button on the bottom. Cleaned throttle body too btw. Pulled the wiring harness off the threaded retainers to release tension on the harness to fit around the battery pack of the impact. Just barely fit the impact on #4. thought i was going have to remove the fuel rail pressure sensor, but didn't want fuel dripping all over. Might just remove it, to make it easier. Pita part was figuring out what needed to be removed and working fast so the engine stayed hot.

seemed like 1/2 drive pulled the plugs out stronger and faster. I used a regular 6 point deep 9/16 socket, no problem. I would get a set of various impact extensions. you will need them.

Good job Dean, glad everything worked out for you!

Did you do the 4 and get it hot again and other 4?

Yea I could feel the impact straining as the engine cooled off and wasn't hot anymore. Also duct taped some cut hose to the shop vac and cleaned around/in every plug hole. Blasting it with the hose didn't work. Big thanks to the patman 3v plug write up.

The burned up plug came out of Stealth's #8 literally not even finger tight on the spark plug. sounded like a big exhaust leak.
