how is an x pipe any different from a factory Y pipe? connecting the pipe just seems to defeat the purpose

You have a lot to learn. More reason for me to get that Exhaust Guide 101 started!

When you go true dual, you eliminate the factory Y pipe. An X pipe replaces the factory Y. I would look up pictures online so you know what we are talking about, NOOB!

im not stupid. i know what an x pipe is and i know what a Y pipe is i just think its pointless to run an x pipe when you can just have straights. an x pipe seems to much like running the factory y pipe with another y pipe before your two exits.

a y pipe runs both exhaust banks into one mid pipe and exit, vs. a x/h pipe that will allow you to still have true duals but it will equal out the difference between the two banks caused by having an asymmetrical setup with duals....... i think i worded it correctly though im sure some one else can put it a better way.

An X pipe replaces the factory Y. You wont have a Y pipe at all when you have a true dual system. I dont think you know exactly what your talking about....

Ya your right on target. An X pipe is purely for exhaust scavenging. It equalizes the pressure of the dual pipes/mufflers. Youll lose some tq without one.

^ And it is a hell of a lot better than a factory Y pipe!
