where can i buy mirror covers?

where can i buy mirror covers?

i have chrome mirror covers on my 99 and i want black. i lucked up and found one on ebay, so i got it, but i still need the other. i havent been able to find it. dealership will sell me one for 40-something, but if i can get one for 20-somehting it will be better.

anyone know where i can get one? my internet searches dont turn up anything but chrome.

ebay is the only place that i have seen that i fairly reasonable there are some pairs on there for 40$

What were your steps... expedition 4x4 posted this pic in a thread I started. I want to paint some of the mirror caps arizona beige to match my truck.

I cleaned the heck out of it with simple green and then I used rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the dirt. I let it dry for 10 mins. Then I took 350 grit sandpaper and scuffed it. Then 3 coats of Dupli-color black then 4 coats of clear. Make sure its completely dry between coats.

how easy is it to get the mirror cover off...thinking of painting my chrome ones as well but want to paint the entire housing.

It was really hard. Whoever installed them, used adhesive tape and super glue. Now my stock mirrors look like crap without the painted mirror covers

The covers attach with 3m tape
