Talking Svt Supercharger on Stock 5.4

Ive been really interested in looking into an svt supercharger pulloff from a lightning or harleydavidson truck. I was just wondering what all parts i will need to make a successful install and if i absolutely have to have an intercooler. I will run this at low boost since i dont have all the nice forged parts like the real lightning but plan on using it as a daily driver w/ the occasional race at a redlight. Any help would greatly appreciated.

In all honesty, there is a much better and, in the long run, much cheaper way to do this. There are several kits on the market that would work. To just take a S/C off a truck then install it..that is a lot of work. I made a post a year or so back about all that would be needed to do this I will see if I can find it somewhere in here....
Plus I don't see what kind of truck you have that you want to install this all on. Like I said it would do you better to look into kits that are already on the market...Just my $.02 worth...

just make a call to Vortech Superchargers and buy one of their kits. trust me... you won't be sorry. everything you need to supercharge your truck is included in their kits.

If you are trying to make a L engine in a NA engine truck, to make it as close to "stock" Ford, take a look for LightningCrew. He did a L motor swap in his SCrew.
I think he had about 10K or so in the complete transition ( full motor and I think trans swap ). This was engine, PCM, trans, etc. The L SC is intercooled, so no choice there.
If you want to go sans Intercooler, you can take a look at the Roush SC for your year ( don't know which you have ) truck, which as a kit, I think had the correct tune inculded ( not 100% sure myself ), Matt did one on his '04. Something ike 4K for the setup ( think that is the cost ).

You could always drop Skid or Crash an email and ask him for ideas. They have soup to nuts conversions for F-150's.

Good luck

check on the supercharger/turbo forum. there are lots of people who have successfully put a lightning super charger on a N/A 5.4 - just don't go crazy with the boost. They are better for lower RPM power than any cent.
