Can someone please explain how to upgrade my stereo in an 04 F150 to satellite? Picture or posts would be great. The easiest option(s)

very easy to do all you need is a receiver which will plug into your stereo and control head and a antenna and your in business or you can just put in a radio that has the xm or sirius built into it. there are many places that offer kits xm, sirius check out there web sites very cheap.

 

Is it possible to install a more recent ford factory stereo (sirius equipped) and remove my current stereo?

Easiest? My opinion is to get a Sirius Starmate 5 or 7, they'll be on sale everywhere for less than $100, maybe as low as $50. Suction cup the base to the window wherever you like it, run the wires for antenna and power under the dash plastic. I put my antenna through the 3rd brake light hole and hid in the headliner. Do get a fm direct connector for it too, or if you have an ipod plug, the one for that (just a wire). The kids at Best Buy or whoever know what to hook you up with. It is pretty easy to install one, my biggest bitch was the reception, that was until I got the fm direct connector.
