Hello All,

As the post title says, I have a 2006 Ford F-150, SuperCrew, with the factory installed OEM Head Unit (Not the 6-CD, just a single CD) and factory installed OEM Sirius Satellite Radio. When I press the AUX button, I get SAT1, SAT2, and SAT3.

My question is, and I'm sure it's been asked before, but I haven't been able to find an answer here, is it possible to have a Mini-headphone jack added and switch over to the AUX input without switching over to the Sirius Satellite Radio receiver?

I would like to implement my Sandisk Sansa (MP3 Player) into a hardwired port, but I would also like to have the Sirius Satellite Radio functionality as well. Is there a way to have a 4th input?

My 07 has the factory audiophile system with the sat radio and the audio jack on top of the dash. When you push the aux button you get sat1, sat2, sat3, line in, in that order. My guess is that you would need the line in jack harness at the least and possibly an 07 deck.

 

Hmm...I was looking for a line in harness somewhere...however, I do know that my system is not one with an audiophile.

I'll have to take my radio out and see what it looks like on the backend to see if there is an extra input available. Perhaps if I do buy a line in for the aux, it'll automatically detect a 4th input (one can hope anyway). If not, I'll start looking for the 06/07 6CD w/ Audiophile head unit.

Check out f150store.com. They have an aux jack that will tie in to your stereo. I believe it's about $50.00.

If someone has the '07 setup, w/ Factory Sirius Satellite Radio & Aux Kit, could you see if you have a special harness that "splits" the signal?

I looked at the '07 radio via Ebay and it doesn't look any different than what I currently have (other than the 6CD In-Dash changer / MP3 capability).

Yes, I knew about the Ford TripTunes, but I do not want to use FM Modulation for sound -- not after hearing a true connection with my Sirius receiver in this truck.

I spoke with someone from a Ford dealer who in turn spoke with someone who is their accessory guy that works for Ford (so they tell me), and he said that he wasn't familiar with how the 07 F-150's were wired and that he thought the Auxiliary was a part of the 07 wiring harness already built in (meaning wire splices done at the factory).

Neither he or the guy I spoke with said that they have any wiring schematics on how the stuff is tied in. I'm tempted just to buy an 07 Auxiliary Tray, the other part mentioned to connect to the radio, and figuring out what wire(s) to use (if any) to wire the sucker in.

If someone has a 2007 F-150 with the Auxiliary Jack from the factory, would you mind taking some pictures and posting the connection so that we can all see how it looks on the radio?

I've seen an what looks to be an OEM harness that comes off of what looks like the Audiophile port on the rear of the 2007 F-150, but that was through crutchfield's web site.

I'm also interested how the 07+ have aux input & sirius from the factory. PIE adapter can't do both I guess. If anyone has opened their dash, can you let us know....

 

I looked at the wiring diagram off the Ford Service Manual DVD for 2006-2007 Ford vehicles, and apparently, the wiring diagram only shows an extra harness attached to the main harness. I did not see where the left and right channels are attached, but my guess is that it is using the same cd changer port on the rear of the radio, but it is somehow tied in via a T harness or some other means to split the signal when on different modes.

 

Have you got a way to post the page with that diagram. I have a cd manual for my 2006 but I guess they didn't start the aux in tray till 07. If not, can you try to email it to me?? tmd9707@charter.net thanks...

 

Well, let's see here. Apparently, I found something by scanning through the wiring diagrams again, so, I'll attempt to post a link to the connections of the Audio Input jack (at least it shows what the connectors are anyway since it won't load it from this page)

Shrapnel. I was having the same problem with my Aux input and the same truck. Hoping you still have the pictures or pdf around because the link doesn't seem to be working anymore. I would like to tap into the Aux input through the Sirius XM that I guess was factory installed. I can't seem to locate where the unit is mounted. Must be tucked away somwhere.
