Sirius Starmate install pic

Well, here is my install pic. Went with Sirius solely because of Hair Nation.

I didnt do the install myself because frankly i dont have the time and the proper place at home to do so.

HAIR NATION ROCKS!!!!! I'm gonna get Sirius myself only for Hair Nation and Stern. I also get Hair Nation on my Dish Network, so I can crank it in my house!

I'm listening to Hair Nation as I type this

Try out Buzzsaw too it rocks too

The install looks good. I have a similar setup with an audiovox unit.

Are you using the new PIE adapter on it?

Heres mine

Van & Khindal,

Where do you guys have your antennas mounted? I was thinking I'd like satellite radio and would prefer to have the antenna mounted above the brake light, but it looks too complicated for me to tear the interior out.

My antenna is mounted by the 3rd brake light. I did not do the installation because I would have effed it up more than likely.

Mine is mounted just above the windshield on the roof. After hearing all the horror stories about the 3rd brakelight leaking water I went with the front mount.

Deltascrew,

Do you find it intrusive mounted on the front? I've not heard of the third brake light leaking. Is it a common problem.

I installed my xm on the 2005 KR F-150 at the 3rd brake light. Install was simple. 1st I pulled the weatherstripping from the rear door at the top corner nearest the brake light. Then I unsrewed the brake light. Then I took a snake and inserted in the headliner at the back door. Slid it to the area of the brake light. From there I grabbed the snake, taped the antenna lead and pulled it through. I then hid the wire behind the door gasket and down the side wall, across the floor and up to the underside of the dash.

I was going to get the starmate but then I decided I would rather just get a whole new stereo. I didn't want that mounted on my dash. My old CD player was a CD/MP3 player by Aiwa so I knew I still wanted an MP3 player. For some reason it's not playing MP3's. I have to go back tomorrow but I probably will never listen to local radio stations again. I got a Kenwood MP7028 from an Auto Sound store by my house who did the install. I bought the Kenwood Satellite receiver at Best Buy it was cheaper. I love Sirius and love Hair Nation and BuzzSaw. Just got this on Sunday so I am new to the whole Sirius thing. I love it so far though. I set 24 stations to my presets but my stereo came with a nice remote that is easy to go from preset to preset which is cool. Rose

I agree with you on the Starmate. Mine's going back also. My last F-150 had an Alpine 9847 and I loved it. I'm either going back to the 9847 or get the 9851 with the Sirius tuner. I just need to find someone to install it as no store in my area carries Alpine.
