Hey RP,
I followed B-man's plan except I ran the antenna wire under rubber seal at the back of the hood.

If you look real close you can see a channel on the back side that is just the perfect size for the antenna wire to sit. It keeps most of the wire out of the engine compartment.

I see...

I'm still weighing out thoughts/options on if or where I'll run my antenna.

Like I mentioned previously, I've had very good luck with it where it's located currently but, I have dropped signal a couple of times.

Decisions, decisions...

I like the clean Install in the pics.
I have seen a couple of different mounts that go on the right side of the radio, has anyone seen one for the left side, and maybe down lower?
I was trying out different places for my MyFi, and I think it would fit pretty good to the left of the ashtray/cig. lighter, under the 4 wheel drive ****.

Holy Schnikes!

Flames? Lift Kit? Wheels?!?

When did you get that thing?!?!

Oh yeah, the antenna...

Mine's in my front window and follows a dashboard line to conceal the wire. Unless I point out the antenna, you'd never notice it.

So far, the reception has only dropped (very briefly) twice.

Hey RP,
I was looking at the pics (nice interior BTW) and couldn't see the antenna. Is it the right or left side?

Where did you drop the coax thru?

Does the mount interfere with power-point or the vent? Can you plug a cell phone charger into it?

Thanks in advance...

The antenna is up on the driver's side dash. Immediately next to the a-pillar and the dash interface. I don't think I have a picture showing it honestly... sorry. I'll try to remember to snag one the next time I have the camera out there.

I brought the coax down from the modulator, out the side of the console, under the dash (around the e-brake, steering column, etc), back up the a-column/door seal, then it comes out at dash height over to a line where two pieces come together on the dash. I followed that dash line towards the windshield. Extra cable was bundled behind the flow-through console.

That make any sense at all? I just re-read it and it's pretty confusing. Let me know if you need a few pictures...

As for the power port. I haven't done the math on what's being pulled off of that port and thus, I haven't plugged anything into it as of yet. I know I still have the cig lighter at the ashtray for power if I need one...

Before I plug anything into the one that I tapped off of, I want to make sure I'm not going to pop the fuse... I feel confident that you could use something else on it but, like I said, I'm going to double check. The draw, as I recall, from the charger was pretty low...

Thanks for the reply, I got impatient and I ended up doing the same as you before reading this....

I don't have a mount yet, so it's the cupholder for now.

The current rating on the power point connector is 2000 mA or 2 amps. General practice is to go 50-70% rated power on a fuse. So I figure about 1 amp with it turned on and a dead battery. Less with a full battery.

Thanks all for the help.....

Job completed

The MyFi powerpoint is fused at 2.5 amps. I think the truck is 15 amps.
