The other day when I started to do my fog lamp re-wiring to have the fog lamps on anytime the park lamps were on I notice a problem. The fuse box under the hood , I was checking out the mini-fuses & seen I had one that goes to the headlites was a 30 amp. I looked in my owner`s guide & it called for a 15 amp.I know that this 30amp came from factory this way. The Onwer`s Guide had first print on back Sept. 1995. So I though I would take a look at my Dad`s Owner`s Guide , his truck ,Lariat,same year,same color, everything. The only difference is his 2 wheel drive & mine is 4x4 thats it. His Owner`s Guide for the same fuse called for a 30 amp like what I had in my truck.I firgured something not right here by now. I called Ford hthey couln`t answer the question WHY?????the trucks are the same , but the Guides were very different. His printing 2nd done Oct. 1996 So to make a long story short now Ford will not replace my onwer`s guide with the right one only if I pay for it$$$$$ Its costing me $22.50 for the right owner`s guide for a truck that they should have to replace for free. I bet with the early trucks all owner`s guides are wrong so later Ford makes a change but doesn`t tell the owners of the first 97`s out there. So you better check your Guides to see what you may have. My Insurance told me if by any chance you have a fire because of the wrong fuse , GUESS !!!!!!! You Insurance won`t pay out to replace the truck. Even if you did nothing wrong. There should have been a TSB on this or a book re-call to make sure owners have the latest information that is correct for their trucks or cars!!!!I never have ran into a problem like this before.So PLEASE check your Owner`s Guides to make sure you are updated with the correct information!!!!!....Lariat#1

Lariat#1, my owner's guide is Sep 95 too. Are you saying that 30A is the correct fuse and the book is wrong?
