Post ELECTRICALLY DEAD

The other day my 1989 F150died on the way home. As the truck died all of the warning lights came on but nothing else worked. NOt the radio not the lights nothing.. sofar I have checked the ignition switch, the battery, fuses and many other things. now all I get is the red battery light no matter what position the key is in. if I short the starter solinoid the engine rotates but does not start. also in the last few weeks the check engine light has blinked when the tach was above 2000 rpm but no codes were stored. any ideas???????
