1/8th mile not impressed

So I took my little 98 down the 1/8 last week and picked up .8 of a second with a aem hot air intake canned tune and some lakewoods. Spinning from the start and partial into second.

Mods are madfan, aem brute force intake, bbk 75mm tb, pi heads, 10.5 to 1 compression, canned 93 oct. sct tune, fidanza clutch and flywheel, 3.55's with an open diff., 18" lightning wheels with 295/45/18 hankooks.

I about to start doing some email tuning from JJ @ WMS. I know I need gears and LSDiff and either some drag radials. What else should I be looking at doing? Any suggestions are welcomed.

No hook hankooks will get you every time at the track. Get some drag radials (Nitto 555R's) since they have the best street life. Also ditch the slappers and get a set of long bars JDM or JLP.

Only thing that I'm not sure of as far as a supercharger is the compression ratio that I'm currently at (10.5 to 1). I wonder how much timing I would be able to run at 8 or 12 #s? The lakewoods are a means to an end only reason that I picked them up was the price (50 shipped) but I have been thinking about getting some stifflers bars. I also thought that slappers were good to about 600-650 wich I am am nowhere near and probably never will be.

honestly, you need to look into a drive shaft safety loop as well to go with the stickier tires I see coming in your future...

not to mention a real tune will help a lot...

what are your goals / plans??

if you wish to stay N/A then you should look into some UnderDrive pulleys if not, then find a used centrufigal setup and have some fun

I also didn't see a valve body or torque converter on your list

No valve body or converter needed, it's a 5 speed. I also just got my starter tune from JJ and will be getting everything dialed in very shortly. For now it will stay NA but may see moderate boost or a wet shot after I save for the magnum 6 speed.

I do need to source or build a driveshaft safety loop, I already upgraded the u-joints when I did the clutch and flywheel.

As far as goals or plans just a reasonably quick street truck. I've been missing a bit of performance since the lightning was stollen.
