when you are "power braking" what you are actually doing is pre loading the torque converter

Nah, I got the 5.4 and yes it's 2wd. I'm gonna go back soon and drop the full spare this time and take out some stuff I keep in the bed. I want 15's dammit! lol

And I was preloading the tranny as much as I could on each run.

You are pre-loading the torque converter and them some. Pre-load is right before the tires would begin to break and start spinning.

All I can say is dont' "power brake" it past 2200 rpms, my 4wd made a horrible noise when I did this. It still works fine and all but boy did that scare me. Come out of the hole like a bat out of hell though.

I hope you are not doing 4wd launches, thats a good way to break your truck, I can get the stockers to stick after a good burn of the tires and I make a good bit of power.

oooo power braking is a burnout? Don't think I have ever heard it being called power braking before. I have heard burnout, brake torque, brake stand but not power braking.

A guy my dad works with has a second gen cummins 4x4 running 66 pounds of boost and always launches his truck in 4 hi to get the traction as he runs low 12's. I don't know what kind of upgrades he has done to the drive train though

Where did I say that power brakeing is a burnout? I was talking about toque converter preload. I said that if the tires break when you are pre-loading that it is more than pre-loading.
