It is an option and that is likely how we'll begin the implementation but, again - I'm not sure it's a significant problem at this point.

Just to let you all know... we're working on a couple of things behind the scenes. One is a 'garage' feature. This will hopefully be implemented within the next few weeks (if all goes well). Another thing that we're working on is an option for backyard manufacturing folks (ie: the guys that are making custom grills and such) to be able to promote/sell their products here on the site.

The latter of those two is very much in its infancy right now but, we feel strongly that we need to embrace the fact that we're a enthusiast site. There will likely be conditions involved with selling items out of a member's basement or garage but, it's in the best interest of the site and all the members to allow this type of a thing.

As you guys know, we operate pretty lean - and that's by design with the support of IB and the other staff (JackandJanet, SSCULLY, and Bluejay). As such, implementation of some items may take longer than others (there are 'several' things that have been on my plate for quite a while now but have not yet been implemented (an infraction system, for example)) but, we're genuinely trying to do some things that are in the best interest of everyone around the site. It's not that I'm pushing this back to the back-burner because I don't feel that it's not important; I do. I just don't think it's quite on the front burner.

I'm a stupid hillbilly who is just learning about this whole interweb thing. Patman? Cut external links for photos? I don't know any other way to post pics. Got the ol' photobucket and I just cut and paste the pic link and for my sig I just used thumbnail versions. Is this ok? Is there a better way? Be gentle, I'm computerly challenged.

F150online has its own photohosting gallery, and you could upload pictures onto this site without bandwidth restrictions that PB has.

I have 90% of my photos on PB myself, but thats mostly because i can keep them organized efficiently on PB, and can host larger images there if needed.

Here is the link to my gallery

and everyone's galleries

Whenever someone comes to my site with an F150 and wants a sig I always either make it 500x100 (most often) or 500x150. Most the designers seem to make them within that range except for one. 500x150 really isn't too bad and it usually can fit a ton more into a sig.

Rp,

Don't forget about the Mods tab in the users public profiles that I suggested a while back.

That may get rid of the urge for some people to list every modd on their truck in their sig.

This is my old sig pic I made that didn't meet the requirements. It was 50 pixels too tall. It's 309x150.

Then dirtyd88 hooked me up with my current sig pic. It is 500x100.

I think a mod section in the user profile would be a cool feature.

I know everyone is giving Rockpick a bunch of grief but I had a thought I would like to share (those who know me know this is rare). What about the huge grey space between your name and your little bio on the right. What if we could fill that with a sig or mods? That is a lot of wasted space.

But i'm also with efuehrin, is it that hard to scroll? Thats what the little wheel is for atop da mouse.

I'm not, No offence, -It would be allot easier and allot less annoying erasing them from existence. SPECIALLY when their sig has to be in every post they make

..<snip>...
That is what the parameter in User CP is for.
Settings & Options -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Options

Visible Post Elements
Deselect Show Signatures
Also if you see the generic icon for the Avatars, you can deselect that here as well. ( don't know if this is default on, or the members that had the question about it had turned it on ?? )
