Web Site Sluggishness
My home PC has trouble loading this site, Fordtrucks.com and f150world.com. I have no issues opening any other sites. It takes 30-45 seconds to open any page on these sites. I have 1.5 MB dsl. My work computer opens them fine, any ideas? it seems to have started a month ago. I currently remote desktop into my pc and access these sites....
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Our server is now running faster and more efficiently than ever, so I suspect the problem is on your end, perhaps with your ISP. To find out if there may be a bottleneck between you and us, do the following:
1. Click on the "Start" button
2. Select "Run..."
3. Type "cmd" and hit enter
4. Type "tracert f150online.com" and hit enter
5. Copy/paste the results in a message in this thread
1. Click on the "Start" button
2. Select "Run..."
3. Type "cmd" and hit enter
4. Type "tracert f150online.com" and hit enter
5. Copy/paste the results in a message in this thread
Once you run the tracert, click on the little "c:\" icon at the top right of the window. Select "edit" and then "mark" and then you can highlight the text you want to copy. Then click on the "c:\" icon again, select "edit" and then "copy" and paste it into a message...like so:

I had the same issue a few months ago over at FTE. I couldn't get it figured out and the folks there insisted it was on my end, so I simply quit going to their website. I had also tried accessing it with two different browsers with the same results.
Hopefully you have better luck here than I had over there.

I know nothing about computers, but...
Almost every time I have this problem it is because I have neglected to empty the temp internet folder thingie.
Pat was gone for a month and I was on this thing all the time and neglected to do that for prob three weeks. All sites were slow to load. Dumped that temp folder and everything is back to normal.
Just a thought.
Bll

Temp internet folder is empty. No viruses, ran adaware. The site template loads quickly but not the content. It's funny, but only the f150 sites (f150online, f150world and fordtrucks) are slow...

When we have one complaint about site performance, our first instinct is to try to help that person diagnose if the problem might be on their computer.
When we have several complaints about performance, we turn to our own servers and see where there might be a problem.
Your complaint about performance is the first complaint we have received in several weeks, so I have to suspect it's on your end (or your ISP's end) and not our's.
If all of your visits happen to be every three hours on the hour and happen to coincide with the exact moment our database backups kick off and you only stay for about four minutes each time, then the site may be sluggish.

Thanks for your help on this matter. I realize it is an issue on my side because i can easily access the site from other pcs. I may try to uninstall mcafee 8 and see if that is the problem. Any other thoughts would greatly be appreciated! I thought that maybe it was a "common" user problem that could easily be fixed.
I had alot of problems with my puter a month ago. After taking it to the shop to get fixed i found out my Mcaffe was corrupt and i had alot of spyware and stuff. I now have the Norton Internet Security package and have no problems now.
