Who's online WebMaster?

Would it be any trouble to enable the "Who's online" option?

I know I can see who's online at the bottom of the MAIN menu, but cant see what forum/thread they are in/on.

it would not be current.

many users here are in and out of the different forums.

A second thought is the privacy issue. For example, a Lightning owner may not want the other Lightning owners to know that he's looking at the V6 forum (for fear of ridicule by his peers)

Then there is the problem with wannabes.
I don't want to be spotted when I'm in the King Ranch neighborhood.

It wouldn't be a problem over at Lincoln Blackwood though, I understand that is a gated forum.

and then there are the STX owners... they would actually see us when we visit the "Other Models" forum. They are very cliquey over there.

Im an STX owner.

I am everywhere and could care less what people think about where I browse.

We are not cliquey over there (whatever "cliquey" means).

1. The Who's Online does not give a very accurate view of where people really are on the site.
2. I think it is violatative people's privacy to publish where exactly they are on the site.
3. It does add needless overhead to the server.
