Fuel cross flow on 93 f150

I have 93 f150 that developed a cross fuel flow condition and FORD doesn't want to fix this recall because the truck was involved in an accident but the condition existed prior to the accident but they just won't listen. I had the same problem with my previous 88' f150. Can anyone tell me what exactly I need to replace to fix this problem? Do I need to replace the fuel pump, if so which one, the front or the rear tank? but both fuel pumps work. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I think the recall entailed replacing the existing check valve and adding a second one, i'm not exactly sure how to do it though. They keep sending me recall letters for my '92 but i've never brought it in (i don't have the probelm yet).

I don't know the exact year range but early 90's f-150s with duel fuel tanks had a problem in which a check valve would get stuck open and cause the fuel from one tank to flow into the other, possibly overfilling the tank and letting gas leak out. Thats the gist of it anyways, i have the letter around somewhere.

WTF....I thought this was happening to me(gas from my rear tank would start to fill up my front tank when I used the rear tank) but everyone thought I was crazy!

I front tank fuel pump need's replaced anyway's so maybe it could be letting a crossflow happen some how, I guess I'll see what happens after I replace it

fuel cross flow condition

According to a service writer at a ford dealer, he said to replace the fuel pressure regulator with the new stainles steel one (which causes this problem atfer going bad), check valve(part # 9J274) on a fuel line that's connected to the front tank and the fuel pump. But he wasn't sure which fuel pump and I don't want to replace both fuel pumps if I don't have too. So my question is which one? Thanks in advance

The regulator on my truck has nothing to do with the routing of the fuel, so I doubt that is the problem. I've found service writers are people that weren't qualified to actually TOUCH a vehicle. just my $.02
