Where to buy a new exhaust manifold?

well, my truck blew a hole in the manifold again this morning. its loud as he!! now anyway, its the 3rd manifold! After the original one went, i had the mechanic get a used one out of the junkyard cuz it was alot cheaper. That lasted for about 5 years, and then she went. Did the same thing and got a 3rd one, and only lasted about 2 years I'm fed up with it and want to get a new one, but don't wanna pay the 300 some $$$ he's tellin me it'll cost. Anybody know where i can get a new exhaust manifold for a good price? Not sure what side its on, but i'm pretty sure its on the side with the O2 sensor.

i tried ford parts online, but does anybody have a lower price?

o yeah, its an 85 302 5.0L V8 with carb.

thanks!

that's what i'd do. you can just get a cheap brand if you dont want to spend too much (like summit or flowtech headers)

got the same response from the other thread, and was afraid i'd get the same from this one. anyway, its a work truck. 85 f150 with a ladder rack and 3 rail tool boxes. I'm not looking for performance gains anywhere or nothing like that. It gets me where i'm going, hauls all i need it to, and has been very reliable. I dump enough money into my HD and don't need to dump any more into the Exp than what it absolutely needs. so does anybody have any suggestions for websites to check out for where i can find a new manifold for the right side? It blew a hole right where the oxygen sensor goes into the manifold, and its running really rough and loud. i got a ticket before for this, and don't need another one so i need some quick responses.

i checked out fordparts online.com, are there any other sites i should check out?

thanks

isn't there a ford parts.com or something out of California? I remember someone in here mentioning that. Its near PKRWD I think.

But ya, I'd get the shorty headers if you keep blowing manifolds out. $150 is cheaper than the manifold, those are $240 per side aren't they? Someone here has the Summit headers and loves them. As soon as my wife makes me some money I'm gonna get me some too....only because some *** Chevy guy was showing off his straight pipes and stock manifold tonight at the convienence store. I'll show him what cool really is!

Talking

No No no no, (giggling inside/) Shorties, straight bassani y-pipe, split to dual, and resonated tips. No muffs, no cats!

I say this because I know long tubes wont fit my 4x4

this is why i suggested the headers. not just for performance gains, but new manifolds will cost just as much, og not more than the headers (unless you go to a junkyard and get some like i did).

aight, if i go for headers, it'll jsut replace the manifolds? how easy is it to do? Do i have to modify anything (exhaust, etc?)

can somebody post a direct link to a site where they have the manifold for my truck FOR LESS than the stock manifold from fordpartsonline.com? A few guys gave me links on the other site, but i couldn't find squat.
85 F150 V8 302 5.0L carburation
the oxygen sensor is in the manifold, so would it go back in the header?

Thanks

you have an oxygen sensor in the manifold even though its carburated? i thought o2 sensors were for efi? anyways, i looked up the cheap summit headers i was talking about earlier, but their catalog only lists them for 87-96's. for your 85 youre gonna have to call them and see if they have them for that year because theyre not listed in their catalong and website (they cost 150.00).

Thanks Donate

I'm almost positive it does. Not an expert on that engine though, so i'm taking it up to my mechanic on monday to see what he says. I'll probably buy the parts myself and have him do it for me this time though, rather than having him get the parts.

any other info apprecaited

o yeah, would anything have to be modified for headers? like the exhaust or anything to hook it all up? Any custom work might make the cost more than its worth. thanks
