Question Scanning Software (similar to ATAP or Diacom)?

Are there any scanning software, similar in function to Diacom (for GM and Chrysler OBD-I) or AutoTAP (for all OBD-II), for pre-'96 OBD-I Fords that you can use with a laptop? A program where you can view live data of what is going on with the vehicles computer. See references below:

AutoTAP

Diacom

I am trying to diagnose a shifting problem. The trans guy that rebuilt it (everything new except the case) checked it with Auto X-Ray, but I don't trust that thing. I want to be sure it is the trans or the computer causing this problem.

The Problem: While either cruising at speed, the trans will "loose" the gear for a moment. Kinda like when the fluid leaks out. Other times when leaving a light it will hit hard on a shift (sometimes 1-2, other times 2-3). And the conditions will vary when this happens, it will sometime be right after startup ... then other times after a continuous trip for about 3 hours at a constant 70. Then it will disappear for weeks at a time. I need a scanner much like I use with my Camaros. Any help?

I'm sure if anyone here knows this for sure, it's probably Chris (Pkrwud). If you don't get an answer in the next day or two you might want to try to flag him down.

Myself I have no idea, but it seems like someone should have something.
