I had the E303 in my old 89 mustang and loved it,but I dont know if I would recommend it for a truck. It didnt seem like it really made good power until about 2700 RPM. (I am not sure if it will work with speed density or not-you might want to check into that.)
My 92 F150 has a stock 89 mustang cam and it seemed perfect. It raised the powerband a little, but not too much.
Just my $.02

im going to be running mass air so im not worried about that. i was afraid the e303 would put my powerband a little too high, but i want something a little more powerful than the stock stang cam. thanks for the input, any more cam suggestions?

Custom cam from Buddy Rawls

Rawls1103@aol.com

Its matched to my Edelbrock Performer intake, lightly ported stock heads, true dual exhaust including long tubes, 5spd and 3:55 gears. Cost my about $350 but the thing rocks. Torque improvement over stock starts at 1500rpm and at 3000rpm its a nice big spike that it carries all the way to 4500rpm or so that it did not have before. Max shift RPM on the stock tach is 5500rpm.

.506"/.506" (w/1.6), 263/269 adv, 213/220 @.050, on a 110 LSA

This is the H.O. firing order cam which gives you the added benefit of a much better sounding exhaust.

so far ive been leaning towards the crane powermax 2020 cam. it says its power range is between 1500-5000 and gives good low and and midrange torque. specs are 208/216 duration @.050 with 530/530 lift and 112 lsa. ive been playing around with desktop dyno and that it shows that that cam does give some nice low end torque. now i need to make sure i wont have any clearance problems with all that lift (especially if i use 1.6 or 1.7 rockers).

GO for it! He'll ask why I haven't gotten off my butt and taken my truck to the track or dyno to validate the results.. tell him I've been ummm, err.. hunting!
