Attn: Ford4ever - 3" Body Lift

How hard was the 3" body lift to install? I've got a '92 F-150 4x4 4.9L with a 4" suspension lift and want to fit 36's. I've been thinking about the 3" body lift. Did it come with the front bumper brackets, shifter linkage extension, etc.? Also, what size are your tires and rims? Thanks, really nice looking truck!

Mine was a performance accessories lift, it was just the blocks and some of the longer mount bolts. Very poor kit, I wouldn't recommend it. There were no bumper mounts, I had to make them for the front, and redrill the rears. There was also a problem with the parking brake being too short, it just wore out fast. I guess it was cheap $$$. The auctual install was easy, although I had a hoist to use.

Ford4fun, are you sure your kit wasn't missing parts?

It was pretty easy to install, took about 6 hours by myself using a couple floor jacks and hand tools. The old bolts were rusted in and i had to cut them off, that was the hardest part. Mine came with the lift blocks, new bolts, loc-tite, and front bumper brackets. You do have to notch the frame if you want to raise the front bumper, and i did have to redrill the rear bumper. It also came with a steering column extension.

I've had it on for over a year now without a problem. I here that performance accessories is the best company out there for body lifts.

Right now i have 15x10 American Racing Tailgunner Wheels with 35x12.5x15 Super Swamper TSL tires. I could fit up to 39x12.5" tires if the radius arms weren't in the way, i plan on ordering the extended ones when i have the money so that will take care of that problem.

A body lift is the way to go,cheap and easy as hell to install.
I would custom mount my bumpers anyway....the kit gives you crappy brackets that wont stand a good hit.

The front bumper mounts were easy to make. Mine is a 2 fiddy so I didn't have to deal with the steering, there was enough there. It did come with the loc tite and MOST of the bolts. I had to buy 2 bolts and drill 2 spots in the bed for extra blocks.
