33's on a stock 1992 4x4?
Hi, all...
Researching my next tire purchase and I'd like to try a slightly larger tire (more clearance and better highway mileage). I've got a stock 1992 F-150 4x4 with 3.55 gears. Can I fit 33" tires on there without much hartburn? Any rubbing issues? I don't tow anything, and I don't haul anything, except a passenger and maybe some camping gear.
Thanks mucho.

I agree...mostly
I've got 31-10.50s, they come close to the radiaus arms when the wheels are cranked all the way.
Super swamper radial and bfg (hard to find) make 33-10.50s, I believe they will fit nicely. Pro-Comp used to advertise these to, haven't seen them for awhile.
In my case 33-10.50s are a nice snow tire(narrow for penetration). So I might get them next time I need tires. We get alot of snow.
The extended radias arms will allow for much bigger tires because they have a bend in them, yet articulation is improved.

If you ask a tire store, 31x10.50 is the biggest they say will fit. Like others have said, i've heard 32's will rub slightly but not enough to cause problems since it doesnt rub all the time. I have 31's because I drive 20k a year so anything bigger would get more expensive . You can get 31's for about $100-$110 and a 50k treadwear warrenty. I think the cost of 32's goes up significantly and you loose the treadwear warrenty, so your right, they may not be worth the investment. 33x10.50's huh? Not seen those, but sounds like they might fit with light rubbing too.
